one year later..

Just remembered that I had started a blog a while back! Weird to look through all the old wedding stuff :) We have now been married a little over a year and things are going really great! I found out today that I have my license to practice optometry in NC!! So, so thankful that I passed! Brent is still getting acquainted with his job, but we're just thankful to be in NC and to be able to pay rent and eat! Sally and David have been such an amazing part of my life so far.. I honestly don't know where Brent and I would be or what I would be doing without their help.
I'm a little bit nervous about starting for real pretty soon. Can't even imagine how it will be to have my OWN patients and call all the shots and be in charge of patients. It will all be pretty strange, but I think I am ready to do it!
I'm awake right now because I think I devoured a little too much cake in celebration tonight and I am really full and a little hypoglycemic.. I just ate a chickpea patty and some water so I think I will try the sleep thing again. Will write more soon! (or next year..)

NINE days?!

We are in the single digits! Woohoo!! It's hard to believe it's actually almost here! Everything is pretty much done except for the little annoying picky details. Mom has really kicked into high gear at home getting everything done. We are getting the place cards tomorrow! I've attached a picture of the sample ones we got :). Brent and I also got new address labels so we can write all of our thank you notes from our NEW APARTMENT! We are moving this saturday!

These next few weeks are going to be insane...

May 1- move to Nashville

May 3- fly to NC

May 7- rehearsal and rehearsal dinner

May 8- get married!!

May 9- fly back to TN

May 12- start my externship

Whew! And somewhere in there I'm supposed to find out if I passed part 1 of the boards or not.. Should be an interesting month!

My Ring is here!!

Well, in Nashville.... :)

Brent finally got my ring in today!! It looks GORGEOUS from the pictures he sent me on his phone! The engraving on the side was a bit of a surprise but I REALLY like it! I think it adds a lot of oompf to it! I can't wait to try it on to see how it fits and looks! I'll probably want to keep it on and wear it around :) Here are a couple of pictures!

THREE months!

89 days to go! I cannot wait.. The boards are coming up really fast, but all I can think about is getting out of memphis and moving in with brent. We had a very unexpected snow day today which was bad for me cause it's hard to get much studying done at the apartment. Hopefully wednesday will be better. THREE MONTHS!!!!

Almost Four Months!

Time FINALLY seems like it's going by!! Brent and Mom and I have gotten almost everything done! We ordered my ring, the bm dresses are being sent, got the tuxes picked out, got the invitations all in, met with the church and set the menu! I think it's going to be a really nice wedding!
I LOVE the invitations! Brent did such an amazing job designing them and we saved like $400! Pretty good!
Part 1 of the boards is right around the corner for me (march 16-17), so I have to concentrate on that for the next couple months.. I REALLY hope I pass and don't have to retake it in August..
